Cooperation Zone Construction Enterprise: Zambia China Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Development Co., Ltd.
Location of the cooperation zone: The cooperation is divided into the Chambishi Park and the Lusaka Park. The Chambishi Park is located in the central part of the Zambia Copper Belt Province, 360 km from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, and 70 km from Ndola, the second largest city in Zambia. Zambia's third largest city, Kitwe, is 28 km away; Lusaka Park is located in the northeastern part of Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, 25 km from the city centre and close to Lusaka International Airport on the south.
Area of cooperation area: The total planned area is 17.28 square kilometers, of which 1.58 square kilometers in the Chambishi Park and 5.7 square kilometers in the Lusaka Park, including 1.63 square kilometers in the first phase.
Investment in the construction zone of the cooperative zone: Chambishi Park plans to invest USD 410 million, Lusaka Park Phase I plans to invest USD 99.935 million; actual investment is USD 169 million.
Leading industries in the cooperation zone: The Chambishi Park is based on copper and cobalt mining, with copper and cobalt smelting as the core, forming a leading industry dominated by the non-ferrous metal mining and metallurgical industry; Lusaka Park to develop modern logistics and business services Processing, manufacturing, real estate, ancillary services and new technology industries are leading industries.
Inbound enterprises: As of the end of May 2014, there were 29 enterprises in the zone.
