Golden Bridge on Silk Road International Think Tank 


I. Background:

Since the reform and opening up 40 years ago, China’ economy has entered into a period of rapid growth and has shown a trend of vigorous development, in which the growth of the private economy has become an indispensable and important force. Since the CPC’s 18th National Congress, President Xi Jinping has repeatedly encouraged private enterprises to get involved in more fields and also encouraged them to make steady growth and engage in bold innovation. On November 1, 2018, President Xi Jinping personally presided over a meeting with private enterprises and stressed in particular that "private enterprises should expand their international horizons, enhance their innovation capabilities and core competitiveness, and form more world-class enterprises with global competitiveness."


In order to implement the speech of President Xi Jinping made in the above-mentioned meeting and the “Belt and Road initiative”, to guide and promote the private enterprises to participate in the global economic integration development strategy, the Beijing Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Promotion Association and related institutions officially established the Golden Bridge on Silk Road International Think Tank in Beijing on November 21, 2018, with the purpose of creating a better development environment for the private enterprises’ internationalization.


The Golden Bridge on Silk Road International Think Tank has a lot of high-level diplomatic resources both at home and abroad. It will provide private enterprises with professional consultancy in the fields of international politics, economy, law and trade, offer strategic ideas for private enterprises to make decision to go abroad and explore the international market. It will provide tailor-made services to the private enterprises according to their specific requests. The Think Tank will inherit and carry forward the Silk Road spirit of "peaceful cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, mutual benefit and win-win outcome", and help the enterprises both at home and abroad to realize political mutual trust, economic integration and cultural inclusiveness. It will help the private enterprises to establish better international images,    upgrade to the higher-level of internalization, and make correct strategic decision with foresight.

 

II. The organization:

The Think Tank consists of the Council and the Secretariat. The Council is the decision-making body of the Think Tank. The Secretariat is the executive body of the Think Tank. The Secretariat is responsible for the day-to-day affairs of the Think Tank under the leadership of the Council.

III. Services Provided by the Think Tank:

1. Seminars and idea-exchange meetings. Six seminars and four idea-exchange meetings will be held each year to discuss the current international situation and regional hot-spot issues.

2. Information services. Information such as overseas trade, investment, cooperation, policy and law will be provided to the Council members of the Think Tank, and political risks will be evaluated and early warnings be given to the Council members.

3. Contact arrangement. Overseas field trips, project dockings, overseas public relations, etc, will be assisted for the Council members.

4. Humanities exchange. Humanities exchange activities will be carried out to promote the connectivity of the people along the Belt and Road.

5. Special project services. Tailor-made services will provided to those Council members who have special needs for their projects.

 

IV. Contribution:

1. Seminar ticket: RMB 2,888 per person per time(including meals)

2.Council Member fee: RMB 50,000 / year. Each year, Council member could participate in 6 seminars, two persons each time (including meals).

3. Standing Council Member fee: RMB100,000 / year. Each year, Standing Council Member could participate in 10 activities organized by the Think Tank (6 seminars + 4 idea-exchange meetings), two people each time (including meals).

4. Vice Chairman Council Member fee : RMB 500,000 / year. In addition to the basic services enjoyed by the Standing Council Member, Vice Chairman Council Member could have one or two overseas visits organized by the Think Tank for free and enjoy all-round overseas investment consulting services provided by the Think Tank free of charge.
