Liu Yuhe,
former Director-General of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, former Chinese Ambassador to Algeria and Tunisia and former Vice
President and Secretary General of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign
Affairs.
Director Liu Yuhe pointed out that the
relationship between China and North African countries has entered the year of
"knowing the destiny". The two sides have mutual political trust and
economic mutual benefit. They are good partners and good examples of
cooperation. At the international political level, China and North Africa have
basically the same positions on international and major regional issues. The
two sides maintain close communication and support each other. At the economic
level, the areas of economic and trade relations between China and North Africa
have been continuously expanded, and investment and capacity cooperation have
continued to develop. China has signed capacity cooperation agreements with
Algeria and Egypt, covering railways, ports, cement, power generation and
construction. With the "One Belt, One Road" initiative proposed, the
China-Africa Cooperation Forum Beijing Summit ended, and China-North Africa
economic cooperation entered a "golden period."
At this meeting, Director Liu Yuhe also
mentioned that the development of private enterprises in North Africa in the
new era is full of new opportunities and new challenges. The complementarity of
industries between China and North African countries and the ability of North
African countries to undertake industrial transfer provide realistic possibilities
for deepening bilateral investment cooperation. The development of private
enterprises in North Africa needs to pay attention to the following points:
First, private enterprises need to have an international vision and
forward-looking when developing, fully grasps the strategic opportunities of
the “Belt and Road”, and deeply understand the core concepts, basic principles
and development of the “Belt and Road”. path. Second, with "hard
power" and "soft power" and "smart power", with
China's strong military and economic hard power; and the soft power of Chinese
cultural influence, "smart strength" is the need for enterprises to
fully combine hard power and Soft power, combined with local policies, to
create corporate values and influence. Finally, private enterprises build a
more complete risk prevention system and strive to avoid major risks, such as
policy changes, local security, and operational risks. Practicing the
"internal strength of going out" and stabilizing the international
economic arena.
Finally, Director Liu Yuhe said that after 40
years of reform and opening up, China’s development and opening up will stand
at a new starting point and will contribute to world peace and prosperity.
Chinese enterprises will also stand in a new look. On the world stage, we will
make greater contributions to promoting cooperation between China and various
countries.
